Sterling

Sister business (and landlords), Sterling garage offer a service that few garages can match. As one of the longest established and largest independent garages in the area they carry out servicing and repair work on most makes and models of cars (including vehicles that are under warranty).

Fleet servicing is undertaken for many well known companies so Sterling have a good understanding of the fleet managers needs. They also perform servicing on behalf of many leading fleet management and contract hire companies.

Customers recognise that servicing is carried out in strict accordance with manufacturers recommendations using genuine parts, in line with vehicle warranties. All work is carried out to the highest professional standards and cars are checked before being returned. In addition, drivers can communicate directly with the technicians who are always available to discuss jobs or offer polite and friendly advice.

Sterling has a reputation for being an approachable business and a large proportion of customers are female drivers who use them because they do not feel intimidated by mechanics and are not patronised by front of house staff. A special effort is made to cater properly for the complete cross section of customers.

As the car industry becomes increasingly competitive, manufacturers compete with each other in a race to develop more and more advanced cars. Great news for customers, who find themselves presented with an array of refinements previously only available on the formula one circuit, bad news for 'fred in the shed' garages which can not - or will not - upgrade to keep pace with these advances. Gone are the days of balancing carburettors with a pipe stuck to the mechanics tongue. Today, mechanics have evolved into technicians and Cars are technology based.

Sterling Garage has invested in the latest technology multi vehicle electronic test equipment, manufactured by AUTODIAGNOS.

The "Multitester Pro" has applications for a comprehensive range of cars and is compatible with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) protocols as well as industry standard protocols such as EOBD (electronic on board diagnostics).

Since the introduction of the ECU (Electronic Control Unit), in car electronic control has dominated the automotive industry. This has made fault finding much harder and has driven business from the independent workshop. The Multitester Pro reverses this trend by putting into the hands of Sterling Garage, a highly sophisticated level of diagnostic capability.

The Multitester Pro has an interactive display whic leads the technician through the diagnostic procedure. Fault codes are displayed and explained, corrective actions outlined and all the data can be stored for later documentation. The capabilities are ever more in demand as even more functions arecontrolled electronically.

All make servicing and repair is costed directly from a CD based system which provides not only service and job times but a host of technical information from tyre pressures to cylinder head bolt torques and how to extinguish that all important 'service indicator' on the dashboard of the dashboard of most modern cars.

Garages claiming to be able to cope with the needs of professional clients must be able to back that up with ongoing investment in new capital equipment and by structuring a training programme for all levels of staff. An excellent reputation has been built on the personal attention and quality of service offered to customers. Given the opportunity to prove themselves, Sterling never fail to demonstrate an ability to provide a valuable and cost effective service.

We take all major credit and debit cards - any proccessing charges incurred will be passed on (at cost only).
